Best Holsters for the Sig Sauer P365XL (and P365XL MOS) | Clip & Carry

Best Holsters for the Sig Sauer P365XL (and P365XL MOS)

The Sig P365XL is the P365 with a 3.7-inch barrel and a full-length grip, which turned the pocket-sized original into a gun people shoot like a compact. It is also a holster trap, because the standard P365, the XL, the XMACRO and the MOS versions all look alike and do not share holsters. This guide covers the kydex IWB we make for the XL, the separate one for the XL MOS, the light-bearing option, and how to carry it.

Which Sig Sauer P365XL models share a holster

The XL slide is longer than the standard P365's and shorter than the XMACRO's, so neither of those holsters fits. The XL MOS has an optics cut and a slightly different slide and gets its own mold. Both XL versions take a 15-round grip, so the concealment advice is the same.

The holsters, reviewed

Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the Sig Sauer P365XL

Molded in .08-inch kydex with no excess material, so the gun seats with an audible click and stays put. The edges are folded rather than left square, the sweat shield runs the full length of the slide, and the belt clip cants 20 degrees either direction. Retention is set with screws, and the screw spacing accepts a claw. Handmade in the U.S.A. by a military veteran, right or left hand, black or carbon-fiber-pattern kydex, lifetime guarantee. $44.99.

Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the Sig Sauer P365XL MOS

The optics-ready version, molded to the MOS slide. $44.99.

P365XL Paddle Holster with an Olight PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie

For an XL with the PL-Mini 2 on the rail, an OWB paddle molded to the light. The outside-the-waistband version on a paddle that slides over the belt without unthreading it. Same aluminum-mold fit and Posi-Click retention, cant adjustable -5 to +20 degrees, open muzzle, suppressor-sight clearance. Right or left hand, made in the USA, lifetime warranty. $54.95.

How to carry a Sig Sauer P365XL

Appendix

The XL is the P365 that people move to appendix because the longer grip shoots better and the claw hides it. Neutral cant and a claw.

Strong side

Fifteen degrees forward at 3 or 4 o'clock. The XL is thin enough that the grip length is the only concealment variable.

Optics and lights

Standard XL: the Clip & Carry mold clears standard sights and low-mount dots. XL MOS: use the MOS mold; the optic cut and plate change the slide. Light: the PL-Mini 2 paddle above.

Frequently asked questions

Does a P365 holster fit the P365XL?

No. The XL slide is longer.

Does a P365XL holster fit the XMACRO?

No. The XMACRO slide is longer again. Each has its own holster.

Do I need the MOS holster for a P365XL MOS?

Yes. The optic cut changes the slide profile.

Does the holster fit with a Romeo Zero installed?

On the MOS mold, yes; on the standard mold, most low-mount dots clear, but the MOS holster is the safe pick.

Left hand?

Yes.

The bottom line

The P365XL IWB holster with a claw at appendix is how most XL owners end up carrying it; buy the MOS mold if your slide is cut.
