Best Holsters for the Springfield Hellcat and Hellcat OSP

The Springfield Hellcat put 11+1 rounds of 9mm into a 3-inch-barrel micro-compact and became one of the most carried guns in the country almost overnight. It comes two ways: the standard Hellcat, and the Hellcat OSP with an optics-ready slide. The slides are the same length, but the optic cut changes what a holster has to clear, so we make a mold for each. This guide covers both, how they differ from the larger Hellcat Pro, and how to carry a gun this small.

Quick compare: Springfield Hellcat holsters

Holster Fits Carry Cant Claw Price
Clip & Carry IWB, Hellcat Hellcat (standard slide) IWB ±20° Screw spacing accepts one $44.99
Clip & Carry IWB, Hellcat OSP Hellcat OSP (optic cut) IWB ±20° Screw spacing accepts one $44.99

Hellcat, Hellcat OSP, Hellcat Pro

The standard Hellcat and the OSP share a frame and a 3-inch barrel; the OSP adds a milled optic cut and a cover plate. A holster for the standard gun fits an OSP without a dot, but once a dot is mounted you need the OSP mold with clearance for it. The Hellcat Pro is a different, larger gun with a 3.7-inch barrel and a longer grip, and it does not fit either holster on this page. We stock light-bearing holsters for the Hellcat Pro with the Olight Baldr and PL-Mini separately.

How to carry a Hellcat

Appendix

The Hellcat was designed for this. Set the clip near neutral and it disappears under a t-shirt. The grip is short; a claw is optional for most people, and the screw spacing is there if you want one.

Strong side

Fifteen to twenty degrees of forward cant at 3 or 4 o'clock.

Lights

These holsters are molded without a weapon light. A light on the Hellcat's rail needs a light-specific mold.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Hellcat holster fit the Hellcat OSP?

Without a dot mounted, yes. With a dot, use the OSP holster.

Does it fit the Hellcat Pro?

No. The Pro has a longer slide and grip and needs its own mold.

Can I add a claw?

Yes. The retention screw spacing accepts one without drilling.

Is the OSP holster optic-ready?

Yes, it is cut to clear a slide-mounted red dot.

Left-hand versions?

Yes, for both.

The bottom line

No dot: the Hellcat IWB. Dot: the Hellcat OSP IWB. Both molded, adjustable, and guaranteed for life.
