The Kimber K6s is the six-shot .357 Magnum snub-nose that made the five-shot J-Frame feel dated: a stainless frame, the smallest six-round cylinder in its class, a smooth double-action trigger, and a barrel in 2 or 3 inches. It is heavier than a polymer revolver and it earns a molded holster that grips the cylinder. We make an IWB holster for each barrel length, and this guide covers both and how to carry a steel revolver comfortably.
Quick compare: Kimber K6s holsters
| Holster | Fits | Carry | Cant | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clip & Carry IWB, Kimber K6 2" | K6s 2-inch | IWB | ±20° | $44.99 |

Holstering a K6s
A revolver holster holds the cylinder and trigger guard, not a slide, so the mold has to match the exact cylinder width and barrel length or the gun rocks. The K6s cylinder is unusually compact for six rounds of .357, which is why a J-Frame or LCR holster will not fit it correctly. Both holsters here are molded to the K6s. If you own a K6s DASA with the exposed hammer, contact us before ordering; the hammer changes the top profile.
The holsters, reviewed
1. Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the Kimber K6 2"
Molded in .08-inch kydex to the 2-inch K6s with the cylinder pocket formed so the gun clicks in and holds. Folded edges, a full-length sweat shield to keep the steel frame off your skin, a belt clip that cants 20 degrees either direction, and retention screws. Handmade in the U.S.A. by a military veteran, right or left hand, black or carbon-fiber pattern, lifetime guarantee.
2. Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the Kimber K6 3"
Same construction molded to the 3-inch barrel. The longer barrel makes this the more accurate K6s and the one most people carry strong side.
How to carry a K6s
Appendix
The 2-inch carries well at appendix with the clip near neutral. The K6s is heavier than a polymer gun, so a good belt matters more than usual; see our EDC belt guide.
Strong side
Fifteen degrees of forward cant at 3 or 4 o'clock. The natural home for the 3-inch.
Frequently asked questions
Does a J-Frame holster fit the Kimber K6s?
No. The K6s cylinder and frame are different. Use a K6s mold.
Does the 2-inch holster fit the 3-inch K6s?
No. Order by barrel length.
Does it fit the K6s DASA?
The DASA's exposed hammer changes the top profile. Contact us before ordering.
Does it fit with aftermarket grips?
The holster grips the cylinder and trigger guard, so most grip changes do not affect fit.
Left-hand versions?
Yes, for both.
The bottom line
A steel six-shot .357 needs a molded holster and a stiff belt. The K6 2-inch IWB for appendix, the K6 3-inch IWB for strong side, both guaranteed for life.
