A bifold that carries everything you need and nothing you don't
The Buccaneer is my slim bifold — two cash pockets, four card slots, and a profile that doesn't bulge a back pocket or wreck a jacket. It's the wallet I'd recommend to anyone coming from a fat tri-fold who wants to carry the same things in half the space.
The basics
- Size: 4.5" × 3" (11.5 × 7.5 cm)
- 4 card slots + 2 cash pockets
- Full-grain leather, hand-finished edges
- $124 machine-stitched / $149 hand-stitched
- Made by hand in my Kyiv workshop, one at a time
How much it actually carries
Four slots, up to three cards each — so twelve if you pack it. The comfortable carry is one or two cards per slot, four to eight total, plus folded bills in both cash pockets. The bifold fold keeps everything flat so there's no card-corner poking through fabric.
My recommendation: two cards per slot, six total, plus your main bills in one pocket and receipts or emergency cash in the other. That's the load it was built for.
The leather (and why it's named on the label)
Most wallets just say "genuine leather." That tells you nothing. Here's exactly what you're getting:
- Crazy Horse (Rusty, Pistachio) — waxed pull-up leather. Scratches rub out with your thumb. Darkens and shifts color as you carry it. The most character over time.
- Koala (Black, Cigar) — smooth, even, minimal marking. The cleaner look that stays consistent.
- Ponte Wax (Tan) — vegetable-tanned, smooth finish, natural color that patinas gradually.
All full-grain — the top layer of the hide, not corrected or bonded scraps. Built to outlast a few phones.
Who it's not for
If you carry more than eight cards, a thick stack of receipts, and coins, this isn't the right wallet — you'll fight it every time. The Buccaneer is for a clean carry. If you need a slimmer, pocketless option just for cards, look at the Venturer v2 instead.
FAQ
What's the difference between Machine-Stitched and Hand-Stitched?
Two different methods, same leather, same edges, same lifetime guarantee.
Hand-Stitched is saddle-stitched one stitch at a time. If a thread ever breaks, the seam holds — it doesn't unravel the way machine stitching can. Takes longer to make. Built to outlive you. Vitalii stitches every one personally.
Machine-Stitched is tight, precise, and tough. Same full-grain leather, same edge work. Stitched on an industrial machine in the same workshop, to the same standards. The everyday choice for a wallet that gets used hard.
How many cards does it hold?
Up to twelve across four slots if you pack it. The comfortable carry is one to two cards per slot — four to eight cards total — plus bills in both cash pockets.
Does the leather scratch?
Crazy Horse (Rusty, Pistachio) marks with use — that's the pull-up characteristic and most scratches rub out with your thumb. Koala (Black, Cigar) and Ponte Wax (Tan) are smoother and mark less.
Will the leather stretch?
A little, in the first few weeks. It starts snug and breaks in to fit your carry. Normal for full-grain leather.
How do I care for it?
Not much needed. Keep it out of the wash. A small amount of leather conditioner once or twice a year if it looks dry. It'll look better in five years than it does today.
Who makes it and where?
I do, by hand, in my workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine. Every order ships with a handwritten note. We've shipped 7,000+ orders and earned 600+ five-star reviews.
Pick your leather and stitching, and add to cart. Ships within a few days, handmade and ready to carry.
