The GBD800 is the Power Trainer G-Shock, and the easiest way to set it is to let your phone do it: pair it with the Casio Watches app and the time, city and DST follow the phone. This guide covers pairing, the manual procedure for when you would rather not, and the step counter and timers that make it different from other G-Shocks (module 3464).
Set it from the phone
- Install the CASIO WATCHES app and turn on Bluetooth.
- On the watch, hold the bottom-right button (D, marked with the Bluetooth symbol) until the watch shows it is searching, then add the watch in the app.
- Once paired, the watch syncs time automatically four times a day and whenever you press D in timekeeping. Time zone and DST come from the phone.
Set it manually
On every G-Shock the four buttons are named the same way: A is top-left (Adjust), B top-right, C bottom-left (Mode), D bottom-right. Your watch's module number is engraved on the case back; Casio's manual for that module is the final word.
- In timekeeping, hold A until the city code flashes.
- Pick your city with D / B, then press C through DST → 12/24 → seconds → hour → minutes → year → month → day.
- Press A to save.
If the watch is paired, the next app sync overrides a manual time, which is what you want.
Step counter and targets
The 3-axis accelerometer counts steps in the background; press C to the step screen to see today's count and the progress bar toward your target. Set the daily target and see the log in the app.
Multi-timer and lap memory
The GBD800 stores up to 20 timer combinations of five timers each (interval training) and 200 lap records. Build the timers in the app and send them to the watch; on the watch, press C to the timer screen, D to start and stop.
Battery
A CR2025 for about two years with normal Bluetooth use; more if you sync less.
