A spare magazine loose in a pocket flops, prints as a rectangle, collects lint in the feed lips, and comes out sideways when you need it. A pocket magazine holder fixes all of that for less than the magazine cost. This guide covers the two ways we sell to carry a spare, in the pocket and on the belt, and which one fits how you carry.
Pocket carry
Clip & Carry Pocket Magazine Holder
A padded nylon sleeve that fits any single- or double-stack pistol magazine, Glock, Sig, Springfield, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Taurus and the rest. The padding hides the magazine's shape so the pocket shows a soft lump instead of a rectangle. It is grippy on the outside and angled so it stays in the corner of the pocket when you pull the magazine, which is what makes a one-handed reload from a pocket possible. Ambidextrous, so it works in either front pocket. $19.99.
Belt carry
Clip & Carry Adjustable Kydex IWB/OWB Mag Holder
For a reload that is faster and does not depend on a pocket. Molded kydex in four sizes, single-stack 9mm/.40/.45, micro 9mm/.40, double-stack 9mm/.40, and double-stack .45/10mm, with Allen-key retention and 22 degrees of cant adjustment. Wears inside or outside the waistband, right or left side. Made in the U.S.A., lifetime warranty, $29.99.

How to carry a spare magazine
Support-side front pocket, bullets facing forward or back consistently so your hand indexes the same way every time. Nothing else in that pocket. In a belly band, the STRAPT-TAC ships with its own magazine sheath.
