Left-handed shooters get the leftovers: a holster listed in right hand with a left-hand version "available on request," or a mirrored mold that ships three weeks later. That is not how we do it. Every IWB and OWB holster we sell is made in a left-hand version, selected from the same listing at the same price, with the same clip, the same sweat shield and the same lifetime guarantee. This guide explains what a left-hand holster actually changes, lists what we make, and covers the two cases, cross-draw and small-of-back, where the "wrong" hand is the one you want.
What a left-hand holster is
A mirror image. The clip, the sweat shield and the cant all move to the other side so the holster wears on the left hip or left appendix with the grip facing the left hand. A right-hand holster worn on the left side puts the grip backward. There is no such thing as flipping one; the mold is different.
Every Clip & Carry IWB holster, left-handed
On each listing, choose Left under Handed. Every Clip & Carry IWB holster is molded in .08-inch kydex to one gun with no excess material, so it seats with an audible click, has a full-length sweat shield and folded edges, a belt clip that cants 20 degrees either way, adjustable retention screws whose spacing accepts a claw, and comes right- or left-handed. Handmade in the U.S.A. by a military veteran, lifetime guarantee, $44.99. Some of the most-carried: Glock 19, Sig P365, Springfield Hellcat, Glock 43X, S&W Shield, and the rest of the holster line.
Rounded IWB and paddle holsters, left-handed
The Bodyguard 2.0, Shield X, Glock light-bearing and other Rounded holsters we carry also ship in Left Hand from the same listing, IWB and paddle.
Ambidextrous
The Byrna CL holster is fully ambidextrous, IWB or OWB, with the clip moving to either side.
When a right-hander wants a left-hand holster
- Cross-draw. A right-handed shooter carrying on the left hip with the grip forward uses a left-hand holster with the cant adjusted forward. Common for drivers and people who sit all day.
- Small of back, palm out. Carrying at 6 o'clock with the grip facing out uses the opposite-hand holster. We do not recommend small-of-back carry, but that is how it is done.
- Support-side backup. A second gun on the weak side takes a weak-side holster.
Frequently asked questions
Do you make left-handed holsters?
Yes. Every holster, selected on the listing, same price, no wait.
Can I use a right-hand holster on my left side?
No. The grip faces backward. Left-hand carry needs a left-hand mold.
Can I use a right-hand holster for cross-draw?
No, a right-handed cross-draw uses a left-hand holster on the left hip.
Is the left-hand version the same quality?
Identical. Same kydex, clip, sweat shield and guarantee.
Are your mag holders ambidextrous?
Yes, both the pocket and kydex mag holders.
The bottom line
Pick your gun in the holster collection, choose Left, and you get the same holster a right-hander does. That is the whole guide.
