Best Holsters for the Walther PDP (Compact, Full Size, F-Series)

The Walther PDP is one of the easier full-size and compact 9mms to carry, but only if the holster is molded to the exact slide length you own. The PDP comes in a 4-inch Compact, a 4.5-inch Full Size, and the F-Series with its 3.5-inch barrel and reduced trigger reach, and a holster cut for one will not hold the others correctly. This guide covers the holsters we make and stock for each PDP variant, how they differ, and which carry position suits the gun.

Every option below is molded kydex, adjustable for cant and retention, and backed by a lifetime warranty. The differences are in slide length, how slim you need the holster to be, and whether you run a weapon light.

Which PDP do you actually have?

Walther sells the PDP in more configurations than most carry guns, and the holster has to match the slide, not the frame. The Compact and Full Size share a frame family but run 4-inch and 4.5-inch slides. The F-Series is a different frame built for smaller hands, with a 3.5-inch barrel, and it needs its own mold. The PMM (Performance Match) versions add a compensator and longer slide, which is why the TUKD holster lists them separately. Check the barrel length stamped on your slide or box before ordering, and if you carry with a red dot, all of the holsters here clear an optic.

The holsters, reviewed

1. Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the PDP 4" Compact: best everyday carry

This is the one most PDP owners end up with, because the 4-inch Compact is the version most people carry. It is molded in .08-inch kydex to this slide alone, so there is no excess material, and it gives an audible click when the gun seats. The sweat shield runs the full length of the slide, the edges are folded rather than left sharp, and the clip cants 20 degrees either direction so it works at appendix or behind the hip. Retention is set with screws you can loosen or tighten, and the screw placement leaves room to add a claw if you want to pull the grip in tighter. Handmade in the U.S.A. by a military veteran, lifetime guarantee, available right- or left-handed in black or carbon-fiber-pattern kydex.

2. Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the PDP 4.5": for the Full Size

Same construction, same adjustability, molded to the 4.5-inch Full Size slide. A half inch of extra slide sounds like nothing until you sit down with it at appendix, so most Full Size owners run this holster at 3 or 4 o'clock with a little forward cant, which the adjustable clip handles. If you carry a Full Size PDP as a duty or home-defense gun and only occasionally conceal it, this is the holster to get.

3. Clip & Carry IWB Holster for the PDP F-Series 3.5": for smaller hands

The F-Series is the PDP Walther built around a smaller grip circumference and shorter trigger reach, and it is a genuinely good carry gun for anyone the standard PDP fits poorly. Because the frame and barrel are different, it needs this dedicated mold. Everything else carries over: full sweat shield, folded edges, adjustable cant and retention, claw-ready screw spacing, lifetime guarantee.

4. TUKD Origin Minimalist IWB for the PDP: deepest concealment

TUKD's Origin is the pick if printing is your first concern. It is cut as small as a holster can be while still fully covering the trigger guard, has no logos or sharp angles, and is designed for carry without a weapon light. It is molded to three PDP variants, the Compact 4", the PMM Compact, and the PMM Full Size, and comes in eight finishes including basket weave, Multicam, and a flag print. It costs more, but for business-casual concealment of a PDP it is the slimmest option here.

How to carry a PDP

Appendix

The Compact and F-Series carry well at appendix with the clip set to neutral or a few degrees of cant. Add a claw if the grip prints; the Clip & Carry holsters have the screw spacing for one. The Full Size is long for appendix unless you are tall.

Strong side, 3 to 4 o'clock

The most forgiving position for the 4.5-inch slide. Set 10 to 20 degrees of forward cant and the grip tucks under a shirt hem.

With a weapon light

None of the holsters on this page are cut for a light. If you run a Streamlight TLR-7 or Olight PL-Mini on your PDP, you need a light-bearing mold, and you should filter the holster collection by your light model rather than the gun alone.

Frequently asked questions

Will a PDP Compact holster fit a PDP Full Size?

No. The Full Size slide is half an inch longer and will not seat in a Compact mold. Order by slide length.

Does the F-Series need a different holster?

Yes. The F-Series has a different frame and a 3.5-inch barrel. Use the F-Series-specific holster.

Are these holsters optic-ready?

Yes. All the holsters here clear a slide-mounted red dot.

Can I add a claw?

On the Clip & Carry IWB holsters, yes. The retention screws are placed so a claw bolts on without drilling.

Left-handed options?

Every holster here is offered in a left-hand version.

The bottom line

Match the holster to your slide length first, then choose the carry style. For most people that means the IWB for the PDP 4" Compact. Full Size owners take the 4.5-inch version and carry it behind the hip, F-Series owners take the 3.5-inch mold, and if printing is the thing you worry about most, the TUKD Origin is the slimmest way to carry any PDP.
