Bestech Cicada's Wing Review: The Small B-Lock Folder in Every Color

The Bestech Cicada's Wing is a 3.13-inch folder with a 10Cr15CoMoV blade, a B-Lock button lock, a thumb stud, and a handle that comes in Ultem, G10 and resin in more colors than any other knife we stock. It closes to 4.13 inches and costs $49.99 in most versions. It is the fun small Bestech, and this review covers the lock, the steel, and the handle materials.

B-Lock

Bestech's button lock. Press to release, let go to lock, ambidextrous, fingers out of the path. On a knife this small it makes the Cicada's Wing a one-handed tool in both directions.

Steel

10Cr15CoMoV is the Chinese equivalent of a VG-10 class stainless: good corrosion resistance and edge retention for the price. It is the steel that lets a bearing-pivot button-lock knife cost $50.

Handles

Ultem is the translucent amber that gets attention and is tough. Black G10 with a red blade is the sharp-looking one. The resin versions are swirled color at a higher price.

Compared

The Goodboy Jr is Bestech's other small button lock, in D2. The Duoz is the slim liner lock. The Cicada's Wing is the one you pick a color for.
