The Ruger RXM is the Glock 19-pattern pistol Ruger built with Magpul: a removable fire control unit inside a Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip frame, a 4-inch barrel, and an optics-ready slide that takes most footprints directly. It launched at a price that made it one of the most popular new 9mms of the year, and holster support is still catching up. Here is the holster we stock that is molded to the RXM itself, why a Glock 19 holster is not a safe substitute, and how to carry the gun.

Why not just use a Glock 19 holster?
Because the RXM is Glock-compatible in magazines and some parts, a lot of owners assume a Glock 19 holster will do. It is close, which is the problem. The RXM's slide profile, front serrations, and the Magpul frame's trigger guard and rail are not identical to a Gen 5 Glock, so a Glock mold either grips the RXM loosely, with no click and inconsistent retention, or binds on the draw. For a gun carried at appendix, "close" is not acceptable. The holster below is formed on a mold cut from the RXM.
The holster, reviewed
Ruger RXM IWB Holster
Formed over a CAD-designed, in-house-milled aluminum mold, so every holster is the same shape and the retention is repeatable. It is .08-inch kydex at three ounces, with Posi-Click adjustable retention, so you hear the gun seat and can dial in how firmly it holds. The 1.5-inch fiber-reinforced stealth clip sits under the belt line, with cant adjustable from 5 degrees negative to 20 degrees forward. The trigger guard is undercut for a clean grip on the draw, the muzzle end is over-cut for threaded barrels, the rear accommodates suppressor-height sights, and a full-length sweat guard with a rear sight shield keeps the slide off your skin and your shirt out of the ejection port. All hardware is black oxide steel with threadlock. Made entirely in the U.S.A. with an unconditional lifetime warranty, right or left hand, black or carbon-fiber-pattern kydex.
How to carry the RXM
Appendix
The RXM is a compact-sized gun, so appendix carry works for most people with the clip near neutral cant. If the Magpul grip's texture or length prints, a few degrees of forward cant helps.
Strong side
Set 10 to 20 degrees of forward cant and carry at 3 to 4 o'clock. This is the most comfortable position when sitting or driving for long stretches.
Optics and lights
The holster is cut to clear suppressor-height sights and does not interfere with a slide-mounted optic. It is not cut for a weapon light; if you add one to the RXM's rail you will need a light-bearing mold.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Glock 19 holster fit the Ruger RXM?
Not reliably. The slide and frame differ enough that retention is inconsistent. Use an RXM-specific mold.
Is the RXM holster optic-compatible?
Yes. It clears a slide-mounted red dot and suppressor-height sights.
Can I adjust the cant?
Yes, from 5 degrees negative to 20 degrees forward, which covers appendix through small-of-back carry.
Is there a left-hand version?
Yes.
What is the warranty?
Unconditional lifetime.
The bottom line
If you carry an RXM, the RXM IWB holster is the one molded to the gun, adjustable in every direction that matters, and warranted for life. Do not carry it in a Glock holster.
